Expedia & IED Barcelona. ‘Expedia’s 1.000 challenge’

Expedia.es, l'agenzia di viaggi online leader a livello mondiale, e l'Istituto Europeo di Design di Barcellona (IED) sostengono la creatività e l'innovazione lanciando ‘Expedia’s 1.000 challenge’, un progetto in cui il mondo del lavoro e quello educativo si uniscono per offrire il meglio di entrambi.Expedia IED Video.

‘Expedia’s 1.000 challenge’ è iniziato ad ottobre, i tredici studenti dell'area "Arti Visive" dello IED di Barcellona coinvolti nel progetto, hanno creato 5 originali "video virali"::"The signal", "Plane", "Ex", "Mouse" and "Magic Suitcase", visibili e disponibili in YouTube (canale Expediaied).Expedia IED Video.

Il video che raggiungerà prima le "1.000" visite vincerà il premio assegnato da Expedia: "1.000" euro da spendere per un viaggio nel luogo scelto dal vincitore.Expedia IED Video.

Grazie a questa proposta, gli studenti hanno avuto la possibilità di avvicinarsi al mondo della comunicazione on-line lavorando direttamente con Expedia.es , contribuendo all'iniziativa non solo con le loro conoscenze e capacità artistiche, ma sopratutto con umorismo, passione e la totale libertà tecnica. Hanno dato nuovo valore aggiunto per il personaggio principale e il tema: "dal comfort in un singolo clic alla libertà di creare un viaggio unico".

Expedia.es, one of the most famous online world travel agency, and the “Istituto Europeo di Design” of Barcelona (IED) support creativity and innovation by launching 'Expedia's 1000 challenge'.Expedia IED Video.

In this innovative and creative project educational and business world joined their effort and their ideas to offer to young people their best response strategy to the challenges coming out in the world of audiovisual communication. 'Expedia's 1000 challenge' started in the month of October, when thirteen students of the "Visual Arts" courses held by IED Barcelona involved themselves in this project.Expedia IED Video.

During this new edition students created 5 original "viral videos" visible and available on YouTube (channel Expediaied): "The signal", "Plane", "Ex", "Mouse" and "Magic Suitcase". Under this new proposal, students were given the opportunity to move closer to the world of online communication working together with Expedia.es. They joined to this initiative by contributing not just only with their knowledge and artistic skills but with humor and sense of freedom too in the use of video and graphical techniques.Expedia IED Video.

They really combined humour, design, passion and total technical liberty giving new added value to the main character and theme: “from the comfort in a single click to the liberty to create an unique trip".Expedia IED Video.

She's a famous sand animation artist.
Using only her fingers, Ilana draws with sand on a glass table.
She always presents her stories with poetry and sweetness, always establishing a personal feeling with anyone of us that watch her art.

IED BARCELONA @ FESTIVAL LOOP OF VIDEO ART 2009

FESTIVAL LOOP 2009 Barcelona, 23 April 2009. On May 26 the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) will hold the IV Bienal of Interamerican Video art as part of the ‘Festival Loop de Videoarte’ (Loop Festival of Video Art).

The Loop Festival, which each year is presented in museums, cultural centers and other places in the city, has also chosen the IED terrace as its location for the exhibition of the winner videos of the IV Biennial Interamerican Video Art.

The Cultural Center of the Interamerican Development Bank (IDB), based in Washington, organized every two years, this international festival of Video Art: 25 video and 13 countries including the 3 winners. These were previously selected from a total of 201 projects among 15 countries. The jury was composed of Belgica Rodriguez and Germán Caballero Pubiano.

The Istituto Europeo di Design, pioneer training school in the area of design, confirms its presence on the cultural scene in Barcelona. In addition to host the festival's activities, the IED Barcelona, will present projects of their students from Video Design and Media Design during the Loop Festival that will take place in the Media Lounge Hotel Catalonia Ramblas and in CaixaForum.
Also this year the students of the master Interior Design for Commercial Spaces will design the Loop Chill Out area in cooperation with the brands Illy and Moritz.

Zona Tortona: le monde fantastique de "Moustache"!

Is the name of a new French company of contemporary home furnishing founded and run by Stéphane Arriubergé and Massimiliano Iorio, moreover partners in Domestic.
Moustache's aim is to bring together a group of like-minded designers to nurture the development of innovative and honest furnishings that will stand the test of time. The company chooses to work with designers and producers who are close contacts ( in every sense of the term-geography,affinity and tastes).

This may be strange in the globalized world or may be a new vision of the creative process based on complicity and distinctive common know-how. Their objects are at the same time in line with the French tradition and modernity.

Rather than artificially developing the principle of novelty at any price, the products produced by Moustache will attempt to take advantage of passing time and to give them a little of heritage value that furniture and objects held in the past.
However, the Moustache collection will try to anticipate and project the solution for our scenarios of future life.
This home furnishings brand includes designs by Matali Crasset, Inga Sempé, Big Game, Ana Mir + Emili Padros and François Azambourg that were presented this year in Zona Tortona during the Milan design week.
